It has been a long while since I’ve done a “Gratitude In Pictures” post. I originally started this series because I’d always scroll through the photos on my phone, photos that not many folks would ever see, and smile to myself with a heart bursting with gratitude for the face and places in those photos.
I decided to resurrect that practice in hopes that you too will take time to look back at all those photos stored on your phone with gratitude for YOUR faces and places. So here’s to SUMMER and just a few things that make me grin with gratitude!!
“Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.”
Psalms 106:1
What better way to kick off summer than with a baseball game? We were blessed to take our youngest son and his buddy and our oldest son and daughter-in-law to a Texas Rangers game.
Taylor asked me if I would help her by making a “bridesmaid proposal” gift for her to give when she asked those special girls to stand by her side as she gets married. What and honor, and guess what I made? Wreaths! Are you surprised??
So far, the best part of wedding planning has been shopping for the dress!! The first try was a trip to Dallas with the bride, mother of the bride (me 😉), grandmother, and Matron of Honor. Oh! And Daddy too, but he left the dress shopping to the girls!
It was extra special for my mom and I to recreate my wedding dress trip of 30 years ago with Taylor. Although we didn’t find THE dress on this trip, it was one for the memory book.
OH! Not to worry!! She did find THE dress a couple of weeks later and it is PERFECT!! 💕
Guy and his friend, Braden worked hard on the ranch and, as always, I tried to thank them with a good meal. I cherish the friendship that these two have. They are two of the hardest working hands you’ll ever find and cooking for them is pure joy!!
We celebrated Independence Day at the ranch at our favorite swimming hole. Shane couldn’t make it home and he we missed him as we always do when one of our tribe is absent. So much to be grateful for as citizens of our great country. She may be struggling right now but she is FREE and STRONG and OURS!! God Bless America!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸
In late July we took a family trip to Nashville, Tennessee to celebrate Shane’s birthday. We loved everything about Music City!! On this trip we were missing Guy but we thought of him constantly and brought him a pile of souvenirs! From The Grand Ol Opry to the Country Music Hall of Fame, Broadway Street and museums.. we did it all and had a blast!!
We welcomed our newest family member this summer, Taylor’s Golden Doodle, George! Is he not the cutest thing you have ever seen??? He is a handful and I can’t wait until he comes back to visit the ranch again!!
Our final summer trip was to sunny Southern California and it did not disappoint! Bowen and I were able to go to San Diego to visit my mom and my sister and her family. We stayed at the iconic Torrey Pines Lodge. We saw beautiful scenery, ate great food and soaked up time with family. It was a great end to the summer!!
Those are just a few of the faces and places that filled my heart (and my camera roll) with gratitude this summer!! How was your summer? Comment and tell me what filled YOU with gratitude this summer!
