Graduation Brunch

Spring means all things fun: Baseball, prom, weddings and graduations. We've done them ALL this Spring! 2016 was a special graduation year around here! Five of my friends all had daughters graduating from high school! I wanted to do something special to honor these girls and their moms who are all so very special to me! My daughter, Taylor and I decided to host a ladies only country brunch! We had so much fun planning every detail.

We knew we wanted a ladies only get-together, part girlie and part country. When looking for invitations we found this...and there we had it! The good ol' Mason Jar became our inspiration!!

We decided that our brunch would be simple, and country and a little bit frilly! We used many items that had meaning to us like family quilts and serving pieces and china from both of my grandmothers.

The BEST decision we made in the party planning process was to hire a photographer so we could enjoy the morning with out worrying about trying to capture it! We hired April Little from Vanilla Bean Photography  and she and her assistant, Loly, captured the morning BEAUTIFULLY!!

A thunderstorm around 5AM made us a little nervous but no good rancher wishes away the rain, so we just prayed for a short DELAY... and after a few tiny sprinkles.. the morning turned out glorious!

I had the honor and privilege of praying for our graduates and asking God's blessing and protection throughout their next years.

"'For I know the plans I have for you', declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope a future.'" Jeremiah 29:11

Then...we dug in!! It was a simple southern meal of biscuits with ham, deviled eggs, cheese grits, marinated asparagus, fruit, cheese and muffins served with coffee, sweet mint tea, lemonade punch and Topo Chico (a border town version of sparkling water),

Taylor put together a fun prop box for our photo booth! I think everyone had fun!!

These two precious dolls waiting patiently all morning for me to take them to the chicken coop. We took the kitchen scraps and the egg basket!

Aren't the adorable? They are best friends!! These cuties will keep our gang busy for years to come! I am afraid that graduation for these two will come way too quick!

The graduates opened their gifts! Every good Texas girl needs a boot bag to carry those cowboy boots in style!!

Although this was a ladies only brunch, I found some very cheap and very cute help that didn't mind waiting on a group of cute girls, at all!! ;)

It was an awesome morning full of friends and fellowship! Three generations came together in a special way to honor five graduates that we love dearly! Taylor and I enjoyed the chance to celebrate their friendships and their futures!

"And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ- to the glory and praise of God." Philippians 1:9-11

Congratulations, Girls! Vayan con Dios!
